Financial Need

So get this. Apparently I can't get a job because I don't demonstrate 'financial need'? What the fuck is this bullshit? I've been living on my own since I was 18 and the only funding I had to go to university last year was OSAP, which I spent all of for that year. I was able to get a job that year (regardless, it seems, of the $7k I had in savings at that point) but I wasn't able to get a job with the same program this year because I had $10k in savings. I managed to save $3k over the entire summer and somehow this means I am no longer in need. School is even more expensive this year than last with their estimate being $15k. FIFTEEN! If that were true (which it isn't) then I would have $6k left in savings (from working my ass of since I was 18) meaning I'd have less than I did my first year. Which brings me back to my title statement of "what the fuck?"

Anyway, I know most people would argue that most students have no money at all and I would agree. I'm one of the rare few students who exercises control when it comes to spending, and our peers are always telling us to save our money because we'll be thankful in the end. Well look where it got me. Fuck.

Well, I'm not actually as mad as the above would seem to suggest as I'm 85% confident that I have a job at the sports centre here as the videographer for games. It's still annoying though, that was a lot of paper work that I had to fill out.

Beer!

Beer. What's the appeal? Why do people blow their money on it?

At my friends house I drank three beers in a row and they had next to no effect what so ever aside from the nasty after taste. But just three shots of whisky and I can feel the effects. So what's the draw to beer? You have to drink five straight before you feel anything! Other then ruining your liver even faster and wasting a lot more money what is it worth? Do people really want a beer bellie?

I'm not encouraging others to start drinking whiskey, nor am I saying people should drink at all. I myself don't drink very often at all, maybe 5 times a year? I'm just wondering what the mentality behind drinking beer is? If people want to get drunk, why buy crap like beer? Seems pointless to me.

Hey man, look at me rocking out, I'm on the radio! Hey man, look at me rocking out, I'm on the video!

Back in my day TV was something. Every night I'd be on my favorite spot in the couch absorbing whatever was on the screen. And everything on the screen was good! Original Simpsons, Futurama, the PJ's, Firefly, Dark Angel, John Doe... those were the days. I'm sure there were plenty of other good shows, those are just the only ones I can remember at the moment. But then TV began declining... less and less funny Simpsons, Futurama always cancelled due to long running sports shit and the rest cancelled too... those were dark days my friends.. dark days indeed... More and more stupid reality shows like that Nany-911, Temptation Island and so on...

But alas, it is happening to radio too! I am not sure if it's just the stations I listen to or all of them but I have noticed that they play the same songs... over.... and over..... and over! I hear that song about bannanas at least 6 times a day not to mention all the other crap too. The same songs always play at midnight too! It's almost as if they just pick a playlist for the month then leave it looping until they feel like changing it. It's so fucking sickening!

It's happening to the gaming market too but I won't bother with that.

Damn Fangirls/boys

It's sick, really. I'll give you one example.

Greenday.

Greenday has been around for a while, since I was a wee lad. I was never a big fan, and I'm still not a big fan.

Now, you may have heard there newest song, "American Idiot". Personally I find it alright, good beat etc. A month later, Greenday tops all charts, sells the most albums, etc. Sure, people like it. Then, one day this girl on my bus is like, "Greenday is awsome, I love them so much, I'm going to one of there concerts." This girl is in grade 9 by the way. There's nothing wrong with that, a bit annoying I suppose, but theres nothing wrong. She goes on for a few minutes then another girl asks, "What's that older song they did, you know, 'Another turning point, the fork stuck in the road'?" How does the Greenday fan reply?

"I've never listened to any of there other albums other than the newest one."

At this point I want to take her head off. How the fuck do you think you can walk around saying you love a goddamned band so much and act like you know all there is to know and listened to every song ever when you've only heard ONE FUCKING ALBUM, COMMON!!! It makes me want to puke... everywhere. It's those type of people that should be killed in a horrible motor vehicle acciedent.

Ignorance and Disrespect

I hate a lot of people, but the people I hate most are ignorant and disrespectful people.

In the wake of the tsunami, the generosity of nations from all around the world is pouring into relief foundations and so on, but just because people are donating, does that make them kind hearted? Does it show they're compassion? After you read this I'll let you be the judge.

On Friday, January 7, 2005 my Catholic school set a plan into action to rake in money for Asia. Did they start a charity where people willingly bring in money? No. What they did was offer a 'Civis' Day, which means we can wear civilian clothing to school so long as we pay two dollars. They shouldn't have to bribe people with civis days, it's just pathetic. Then when I was walking down the hall, I saw this poster.

On this poster read the words, "LETS SEND THEM A TSU-MONEY" with a tsunami of money crashing against a shore while a woman stands there smiling. I know what it means, but that is totally dis-tasteful and almost makes a joke of what happened. I asked 5 teachers there opinion and they all agreed with me and wondered why they were allowed to put it up. To this day I have yet to find out, so to prove my point I made my own poster. On my poster it said, "Let's send them a tsu-disrespectful posters" with a tsunami of posters heading towards a beach. I put my poster up right beneath the dis-tasteful one and left. The next day at lunch, these girls come up to me and rip my poster up in front of my face then stomp on it and laugh saying as they walked off, "How sick and stupid!" So I came to the conclusion that those girls are completely ignorant bitches. Then I made another poster and laminated it to the wall at lunch. When I was leaving some guy came up to me and said, "Did you make this?" pointing at my poster which had been torn from the wall. I quickly denied saying, "Nope" because the guy is a lot bigger than me. He keeps asking I keep saying no until my friend walks by and says, "Hey Phill, someone ripped down your poster." Then the guy was like, "This is disgusting, your sick!" So I was just like... ok. I just left because the guy was obviously fucking retarded.

THEN, when I was walking home with a friend he was like, "I don't understand why you care so much, it's only a poster" and I said to him, "A poster that is disrespectful and basically pokes fun at the whole crisis," and he said, "How? It's just a poster of a tidal wave of money," and I said, "EXACTLY," to that he said, "Well I don't even care anyway, stupid Asians should deal with there own problems. I don't care about them and there problems, I only care about myself. They should've run from it or something," At this point I decided my friend is one of those obviously fucking retarded people who are ignorant. He donated money that day, so did the majority of the school. 600 students donated $1000+ dollars, which is pretty cool for the people in the disaster area, but the fact remains, the people who donated, only donated for the civis day. They don't give a damn about Asia, they're self-centered assholes. I'm sure there are some people who care, but not enough to notice.

So, what is your desicion.

Christmas and X-mas

I swear, some people are just complete door knobs!!

Christmas- Besides being December 25th and the day Christians mark as the celebration of the birth of Jesus (Christ's Mass), Christmas is also a Church season, running from December 25th to Epiphany (January 6th). It is this twelve-day period that is sometimes referred to as the Twelve Days of Christmas.

X-Mas- The last week of December centralized on the giving and reciving of gifts from one person to another. Derived from a Greek term where X meant "Christ" and Mas meant "Celebration" over the years the word has become distorted and is now what non-Christian's call the giving season. As of today "X-Mas" tends to mean just the giving and reciving holidays of December and not the birth of Christ. The term "Xmas" is frowned upon as being a shortened "Christmas" and evil for replacing "Christ" with an "X" but in truth, it is a way to make the holiday acessible for all people of all cultures.

I wrote, "7 Days till X-Mas" on the chalk board in my History class and people freaked and were like, "Why are you putting "Xmas" and not "Christmas"? What do you have against Christmas?"

I TRIED to explain the fact that "Xmas" is a term used by non-Catholic's then they were like, "Well this is a Catholic school so change it," and then I pointed out the fact that there's a Jewish student in the class who DOES celebrate Xmas although she isn't Catholic and they were just like, "So?" and I'm like, "So just because people choose to go to this school you can force your religion on all those who come?" and they didn't say much to that.

In conclusion my studies prove that in majority 60% of Catholic's that attend a Catholic school tend to have Xenophobia and are extremly ignorant to other religions. If you are one of these people I suggest you change your ways. Why?

In the world we live in now your either accepting of other cultures or a complete fucktard who everyone hates, personally I like other cultures and am not an asshole to there ideas and don't force my religion down there throats.

Shallow

People are shallow. I am directing this to who people like and what people want. I'm not saying everyone is shallow, just a lot of people. I suppose I'm a bit shallow, but at least I know and admit it. Anyway, on with the show.

Women. What do they usually want? Tall, dark(as in evil), mysterious, handsome, and ofcourse dreamy. At least, this is what is usually wanted. But the fact is ladies... these men DO NOT EXIST! You will never find these Mr.Perfects. You may stumble upon some really nice guy who's really sweet but lacks mystery or height. In my opinion, you should try to hold on to people like this, chances are another won't come around the bend. So stop living in your fantasy world before you end up stuck with some 210 pound, beer-bellied, jobless, asshole in a trailor with three buck toothed boys.

Men. What do they usually want? Short, blonde, big assed, perfect shape, big breasts and ofcourse suducing. At least thats what is usually wanted. But the fact is gentlemen... these women DO NOT EXIST! You will never find these amazing women... I know you would love too but YOU WON'T!* Don't waste you life looking for one, find a nice girl who cares about you and stick with her. If shes hot, that's just an add on. If you don't you'll end up with some crack ass hoe.

So find someone special to you and don't lose them.

*Unless ofcourse your rich

Stupid School

My school is a Catholic school. I am well aware of the fact that at a Catholic school you accept, upon joining paticipating in Catholic things like going to Mass and crap but my school has offically reached an all new low. Tomorrow there will be a buy-out. A buy-out is when you buy a ticket to go watch a game of some sort and in return you get to basicly legally skip classes(2 of them). Now when a mass aproches, most students either skip until mass is over, or don't come at all. Tomorrow, they are having a buy-out AND a mass. Why? Most likely so that they can trick more people into coming to mass so they don't look like a crummy school. If that isn't bad enough they also force people into doing confessions even if you are not Catholic. Last year we went down to the Chapel and sat there while people were doing confessions and the teacher said earlier, "You don't have to do confessions if you like, but it's encouraged." Now I thought, well that sounds fair. BUT GUESS WHAT? You don't actually have a choice.

I was sitting there when the teacher came over and said, "It's your turn". I simply said, "No thanks, I'd rather not." You know what he did? He grabbed my shoulder and said, "Come on, everyone is waiting to go, just be a good sport." And with that I was pushed out of my seat and into the next room with a Priest where I had to make up some cock and bull story to satisfy the Bible-thumper. You don't even have the choice to not go to mass either, and you also HAVE to stand for prayers in the morning. I stand out of respect to my country for it's anthem, but I stand because I'm forced to for prayers.

So in conclusion, my school sucks.
